LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — The rumors swirling around social media in Lambertville that a Waffle House is coming to Route 179 near the new Dollar General store are unfounded, according to an official with the southern chain of waffle-making shops.

When Patch saw the postings on Lambertville Facebook pages, the news organization reached out to the chain to find out if the rumors were true.

"We currently do not have any immediate plans to open a New Jersey location," writes Njeri Boss, the vice president of food safety and public relations for Waffle House in an emailed response. "I am not sure where those rumors came from, but they are incorrect."
