All Lambertville Waterways Breached Banks: Flooding Updates

A state of emergency continued for weeks after Lambertville saw dramatic flash flooding throughout town in post-Ida storms. Mayor Julia Fahl said that "every single waterway breached its banks" on the first morning before the city's long road to recovery.

A grey parrot who'd been missing for several days was successfully returned home in July after someone spotted her in a tree outside the entrance to Village II. Police, firefighters, her owner, and "an experienced tree climber from Solebury's road crew" banded together to coax her from her tree perch.

Historic New Hope Home Ablaze Overnight; Roof Destroyed

A Stoney Hill Road house built in 1790 went up in flames in August. The vacant home had been listed at $1,200,000 and was marked as pending sale online.

The historic home had already suffered "multiple interior collapses" by the time fire crews arrived just after 1:30 a.m.

Custodian's Whiteboard Artwork Cheers, Motivates New Hope Kids

When Juma Jones heard students at New Hope-Solebury's Upper Elementary School expressing nerves about their upcoming state tests, he got an idea.

Jones began leaving behind motivational drawings on the whiteboard after cleaning classrooms, to inspire third-grade students as they prepared for state testing.

Artist's Show Is 'Love Letter' To New Hope, Lambertville Post-Ida

Hope Gaburo's show at Scrambled! Gallery of Gifts paid homage to the Delaware River towns where she grew up, and even included an initiative to benefit Lambertville flood relief efforts.

"With Love, Hope" included a decal paying homage to Lambertville, with 100 percent of proceeds from its sale to benefit local relief from the disaster.

Charlotte Scarlata was one of only 31 students in the entire world to earn a perfect score on the Advanced Placement United States Government and Politics Exam in 2021. Her achievement is matched by just .01 percent of all test takers.

Dazzling New Spot Opens As Old Stone Church Celebrates 150 Years

Oldestone, the newest culinary interpretation of New Hope's iconic Old Stone Church, has opened at 15 S. Main Street. Next year, the internationally-recognized landmark will celebrate 150 years since it was built.

The steak and seafood restaurant celebrates New American cuisine on its menu and salutes church history in its decor, also featuring an authentic jazz and cocktail bar.

Post-Ida, Roxey Ballet Performing Showcase To Rise & Rebuild

After the studios, office, and blackbox theater of Roxey Ballet were destroyed in the devastation from Hurricane Ida's remnants, the Lambertville dance company performed in a new fundraiser to bounce back and keep producing work.
