2019 Christmas Crossing On The Delaware River: What To Know

The public will have two chances this holiday season to view the Christmas crossing reenactment at Washington Crossing Historic Park.

WASHINGTON CROSSING, PA – The public will have two chances this holiday season to view the annual Christmas river crossing reenactment at Washington Crossing Historic Park.

The first chance is on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The actual crossing will happen at approximately 1 p.m.

In addition to the crossing, on that day, there will be special colonial-era activities and demonstrations throughout the historic village. The cost to attend the Dec. 8 crossing is $8 for adults, $4 for children age five to 11, and free for those under five. A family rate of $20 for two adults and two children is available.

The 67th annual Christmas Day crossing will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on Dec. 25. The actual crossing will happen at approximately 1 p.m. The Christmas Day crossing is free. If you plan to go, it's best to arrive before 1 p.m.

River crossings are contingent upon safe conditions for participants. However, even if conditions do not allow for crossing, ceremonies, speeches and commemorative activities will still take place.

Last year's Christmas Day crossing was canceled due to high river levels.
