DUI Charges Pending Against Tesla Driver: Newtown Twp. Crime Report
In the days leading up to Christmas, police also investigated two separate incidents of package thefts in the township.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Dec. 21 and 26:
December 21
- At approximately 11 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Tesla for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Mill Pond Road and Hidden Valley Lane. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
December 23

- At approximately 9 p.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township home for the report of a package theft. The total value of loss was $25.
December 24
- At approximately 12:45 p.m., police were dispatched to a Newtown Township home for the report of a package theft. The total value of loss was $50.
