510 Coronavirus Cases, 38 More Deaths Reported Tuesday

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 510 additional positive cases of COVID-19 and 38 new deaths.

HARRISBURG, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 510 additional positive cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 82,696 cases.

As of Tuesday, there have been 6,464 total deaths from the virus. That's up 38 deaths from the day before. Of the state's total deaths, 4,410 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities, according to the newest data.

Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older. About 78 percent of Pennsylvania's coronavirus patients have recovered, according to data from the state.

Meanwhile, the southeastern counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery will be moving to the green phase of coronavirus mitigation on Friday along with eight other counties.

State officials are cautioning residents to continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines as safety precautions as other states experience a surge of new cases as businesses reopen and social distancing measures are relaxed.
