Newtown Runners To Compete In Texas Half Marathon
Two Newtown residents are traveling to the Lone Star state to raise money for A Love for Life and pancreatic cancer research.

NEWTOWN, PA — Two Bucks County residents - Bill Davis and Louis Fancher - are headed to Texas this week to compete in the Austin International Half Marathon.
The race takes place on Sunday, January 19 following a 13.1-mile course through downtown Austin and culminating in a live music festival.
"This is the fourth time that Bill and I have run this race to raise funds for A Love for Life and the search for a cure for pancreatic cancer. I know that we are both grateful to be in a position to support a local charity and it doesn’t hurt to spend a weekend in Austin in January," said Louis Fancher, of Newtown Borough.

Bill Davis added, "Agreed – grateful to be able to support A Love For Life and Christine! "
“It’s so fun to have a charity team presence in such a marvelous city,” said Christine Edmonds, the founder and president of A Love for Life, a Newtown-based nonprofit raising funds for pancreatic cancer research. “Bill and Lou always seem to meet up with dozens of new friends whenever they head down there, so we have sent along some extra shirts. We are able to set up a custom Penn Giving Page through the Abramson Cancer Center - they reached out to friends and neighbors and have raised more than $7,000 before even landing in Texas!”
