Centre Avenue To Close For Utility Work In Newtown Borough

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Centre Avenue between Sycamore Street and State Street is scheduled to close this week for a two-week construction project.

The Newtown Artesian Water Company plans to upgrade a water main beneath the street between the Newtown Creek and South State Street. Once the work begins, it will take about two weeks to complete.

During construction, the one-block section of Centre Avenue will be closed to traffic in both directions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Traffic will be detoured using Sycamore Street, Washington Avenue, and State Street.
