Centre Avenue In Newtown Closes For Daytime Utility Work
During construction, a one-block section of Centre Avenue will be closed during the day while crews upgrade a water main.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — A daytime road closure and detour begins on Monday, June 23, on a one-block section of Centre Avenue in Newtown Borough.
During the closure, the Newtown Artesian Water Company will perform utility construction between South State Street and the Newtown Creek. Once the work begins, it will take about three weeks to complete.
During construction, the one-block section of Centre Avenue will be closed to traffic in both directions Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through July 11. Traffic will be detoured using Sycamore Street, Washington Avenue, and State Street.

Local access will be maintained. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.
Newtown Artesian Water Company will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
