Charges Filed In Newtown Burglaries

A 37-year-old man has been charged in connection with several local burglaries, including in Newtown Borough.

NEWTOWN, PA — A 37-year-old Philadelphia man has been charged in connection with several local burglaries.

David Anthony Andrauskas has been charged by the Newtown Borough Police Department with six felonies in connection with burglaries that took place on Jan. 12, court records show. Andrauskas has been charged with three counts of burglary as well as three counts of criminal trespass.

He's also facing multiple misdemeanors, including theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Newtown Borough Police did not immediately return a call seeking additional information on the crimes; this story will be updated if and when more details become available.

Police in Upper Makefield said Andrauskas is also suspected in the Feb. 4 burglary at Dominick's Pizzeria in Washington Crossing. Authorities said in the case, the suspect smashed the front window of the business around 1:40 a.m.

Andrauskas is expected to face additional charges from the Upper Makefield Police Department in connection with that case, the department confirmed to Patch.

Andrauskas' preliminary arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 20, court documents show.
