Classic Film Series In Newtown Continues Friday With 'Moonstruck'

The Newtown Theatre's classic film series continues Friday with a screening of "Moonstruck."

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Theatre's classic film series continues Friday, Feb. 7 with a screening of "Moonstruck" at 7:30 p.m.

The series, which will showcase an array of highly acclaimed films, kicked off last month with “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner."

Other films included in the series will be "Tootsie" in March, "A League of Their Own" in June, "Apocalypse Now" in July, and others.

  • “Moonstruck” (1987) – Feb. 7, 7:30 p.m.
  • “Tootsie” (1982) – March 6, 7:30 p.m.
  • “Bye Bye Birdie” (1963) – April 17, 7:30 p.m.
  • “It Happened One Night” (1934) – May 1, 7:30 p.m.
  • “A League of Their Own” (1992) – June 5, 7:30 p.m.
  • “Apocalypse Now” (1979) – July 10, 7:30 p.m.
  • “An American in Paris” (1951) – Aug. 14, 7:30 p.m.
  • “Vertigo” (1958) – Sept. 11, 7:30 p.m.
  • “Hoosiers” (1986) – Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m.
  • “The Big Sleep” (1946) – Nov. 6, 7:30 p.m.

Newtown Theatre member Cheryl Harris will offer a 10-minute introduction before each film. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the theatre before each movie.

Tickets for all films are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $8 for children 12 and younger, and $6 for theatre members.
