Council Rock Board Race Narrows To 1 Vote Margin: Latest Results
The latest results in the Council Rock School Board election leave races too close to call, with two candidates separated by just one vote.

NEWTOWN, PA — As more results pour in for the 2021 election in Bucks County a week after Election Day, a pair of races for the Council Rock School Board have become even closer. An additional 2,000 ballots are currently being processed and counted after the Bucks County Board of Elections decided on accepting them and rejecting others based on proper and improper filling out of ballots.
The tightest nail biter is in Region 9, where Republican Kristin Marcell now holds just a one-vote lead over Democrat Nicole Khan.
Region 8 also remains too close to call, as Democrat Yota Palli leads by just 60 votes over Republican Kevin Gessner.

Republicans prevailed in Regions 3 and 6, with Bob Hickey and Michael J. Roosevelt the projected winners by much clearer margins.
Final election results may still be unavailable for the next 48 hours in Bucks County, as officials pointed to numerous factors for the ongoing delay.

The latest results for Council Rock, as of early Tuesday afternoon, are below:
Region 8
- Keven Gessner (R): 2,020
- Yota Palli (D): 2,080
Region 9
- Kristin Marcell (R): 1,449
- Nicole Khan (D): 1,448
Region 3
- Bob Hickey (R): 1,543
- Paul Barson (D): 1,198
Region 6
- Michael J. Roosevelt (R): 1,748
- Roy Rakszawski (D): 1,111
Further results came in for several Bucks County races on Wednesday, Nov. 10 after several factors held up results from the Nov. 2 election. The Council Rock School Board race has been one of the closer races, with Regions 8 and 9 being divided by a few votes.
Republican Bob Hickey announced his victory in his race against Paula Barson in Region 3 on his Facebook campaign page, with Democrat Paula Barson conceding the race on hers.
Democrat Roy Ratszawski conceded the race out of Region 6 on his Facebook campaign page, congratulating his fellow Democrats and Republican candidate Michael Roosevelt. Roosevelt announced his victory on his Facebook campaign page on Nov. 7.
Republican Keven Gessner said his campaign will "likely demand a recount at a minimum," according to his Facebook campaign page, as the election is too close to call at the moment.
Democrat Nicole Khan seemingly conceded through her Facebook campaign page, congratulating Republican Kristin Marcell. However, she later said these comments were not a concession, but rather an acknowledgement of the race, which is now divided by one vote.
The election for members of the Council Rock School Board is one of the most contentious parts of the election in Newtown. With the national discussion ranging from the masking of children to what they are being taught in schools, this part of the election is very important to voters across the township and borough.
