CR Newtown Little League Faces Hawaii In World Series Action

The Mid-Atlantic team is set to face the West Region, represented by the Central East Maui Little League from Hawaii, this afternoon.

WILLIAMSPORT, PA — The Council Rock Newtown Little League Team, representing the Mid-Atlantic at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, will be playing its next game this afternoon, Tuesday, August 20 beginning at 3 p.m. on ESPN.

After surviving double elimination games over the weekend with a 5-0 win over New England and a 12-2 win over the Northwest, the Mid-Atlantic coached by Brad Hamilton is set to face the West Region, represented by the Central East Maui Little League, this afternoon.

The local boys lost their first game to the Southwest, 9-0, but came back to win its next two games with a 5-0 win over New England on Saturday and a 12-2 win over the Northwest on Sunday to avoid elimination.

The West won its first two games over New England, 3-1, and the Great Lakes, 5-0, but lost its most recent game to Mountain, 3-2.

The winner of today's game will advance to Game 32 where they will face the winner of Game 28 (Southeast Vs. Metro). Click here to view the World Series bracket.

This marks the 37th appearance of a Pennsylvania team in the World Series and Council Rock Newtown’s second appearance.
