Driver Arrested In Newtown Township On Multiple Police Warrants

Police also made an arrest for suspected DUI in Wrightstown Township and investigated fraudulent contractor activity.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following arrests and incidents between Jan. 24 and 27:

January 24

  • At 12:05 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of an SUV for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Second Street Pike and Durham Road in Wrightstown. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
  • A Newtown Township resident responded to headquarters at 3 p.m. to report fraudulent activity regarding a contractor. The investigation is ongoing.

  • At approximately 8 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Ford Edge for committing a vehicle code violation in the 100 block of Pheasant Run. As a result of the investigation, the driver was taken into custody on active arrest warrants from multiple police agencies and transferred without incident.
