Driver, Passenger Arrested On Drug Charges: Newtown Twp. Crime Report
Police also investigated a theft from a vehicle and arrested two drivers on outstanding warrants from Philadelphia and Delaware County.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Aug.1 and 7:
Aug. 1
- At approximately 2:30 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Chevrolet pick-up truck for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Swamp Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug equipment were discovered and seized as evidence, and the female driver and male passenger were arrested.

- At approximately 1:15 p.m., police were contacted in regards to a theft from an unlocked vehicle at the Newtown Athletic Club that happened on Aug. 3. Police remind the community to lock their cars when they park, even if it is in the driveway.
Aug. 5
- At approximately 1:30 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Honda van for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lower Silver Lake Road. As a result of the investigation, the male driver was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department and transferred without incident.

- At approximately 1:45 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Toyota Corolla for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. As a result of the investigation, the female driver was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Department and transferred without incident.
