Forecast Update For Possible Weekend Snow In PA

PENNSYLVANIA — Forecasters with the National Weather Service have issued a hazardous weather outlook ahead of some wintry weather expected at the end of the holiday weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, a system expected to move through the Philadelphia region on Sunday morning could bring a blend of wintry precipitation, including snow mixed with rain.

As of Friday morning, the National Weather Service is predicting less than an a half inch of snow and sleet will fall across the Philadelphia region during the storm.
However, the system is likely to cause travel impacts nationwide as millions return from their Thanksgiving celebrations. Parts of the country, including in the Rockies and Midwest, could get as much as eight inches of snow, the National Weather Service said.

The timing of the storm to arrive in Eastern Pennsylvania is late Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Snow mixed with sleet is possible during the overnight hours. By Sunday morning, expect a switchover to rain.
Here is the forecast:
Today: Sunny, with a high near 44. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26. North wind 5 to 7 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. North wind around 6 mph.
Saturday Night: A chance of snow, mainly after 4 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Sunday: Snow and sleet likely before 10am, then rain and sleet between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., then rain after 1 p.m. High near 42. East wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Sunday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 35. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Monday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
