Hearing For Newtown Toll Brothers Development To Be Continued
There will be no consideration by the board, and the hearing will be immediately continued to a later date, township officials said.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors on Wednesday will open and continue a conditional use hearing for a proposal by Toll Brothers to construct a residential development on a 152-acre parcel at Rt. 413 and Twining Bridge Road.
There will be no consideration by the board, and the hearing will be immediately continued to a later date, Newtown Township Manager Micah Lewis said.
The conditional use application seeks permission to construct a 41-unit residential development. Conditional use approval is required because Toll is proposing to use a cluster option when configuring the development. The application includes an onsite wastewater treatment facility.

Last year, an informal proposal from Toll Brothers to construct more than 170 residential units on the same property was overwhelmingly opposed by township residents in attendance at a public meeting.
That plan would have required a zoning amendment.

The current residential plan is for a "by-right" use, which means the current zoning allows for such a development, township officials have said.
