'I Remain Optimistic': Santarsiero Shares Inauguration Message
The PA Senate representative for District 10 shared his thoughts on the inauguration of President Joe Biden.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Pennsylvania Senate representative for District 10 congratulated President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Inauguration Day.
Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States at the U.S. Capitol. A Scranton native, he won Pennsylvania by more than 80,000 votes in the November election.
State Sen. Steve Santarsiero, a Democrat who represents the Newtown area in the state senate, said Biden's victory demonstrates that democracy has prevailed but more work is needed.

"As the president noted, we face many challenges, but working together we can overcome them," Sen. Santarsiero said. "I remain optimistic that we will do just that."
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, who was among those in attendance at Wednesday's inauguration ceremonies, said the inauguration of a new president brings hope for a better future.

"The inauguration of a new president is a time of hope and promise in our nation. It is a moment of great change, but also one of great possibility, and hope for a better future. It is a time for bold vision and strong leadership," Wolf said in a statement following the event.
Since taking office on Wednesday, President Biden has already begun to undo a number of Donald Trump's executive orders, including signing executive action to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord and the World Health Organization. He also revoked Trump's controversial travel ban that primarily affected Muslim countries.
