Iron Hill Closes 1 PA Location, Newtown To Stay Open

Iron Hill Brewery has shut down in Phoenixville, Montgomery County.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP — Iron Hill Brewery has shut down operations in Phoenixville, Montgomery County, employees confirmed to Patch this week.

But a manager with the Exton-based company tells Patch the closing will not affect its location in Newtown or its 10 other locations in Pennsylvania.

"The Newtown location is unaffected by the closure of the Phoenixville location," the manager wrote in an email to Patch. The 350-seat craft brewery and restaurant opened in June 2020 at the Village at Newtown Shopping Center.

It's not yet clear exactly what specifically led to the closure in Phoenixville, though increasing competition and rising costs are likely to have played a factor as they have for other area establishments that have closed in recent months, the Phoenixville Patch reports.

It's the second Phoenixville establishment to close in the past few months, as longtime mainstay PJ Ryan's also closed its doors after 16 years in business in August.
