The historic Newtown Theatre will present “Lennon & Harrison Live” on Saturday, March 12 at 8 p.m.

This concert will feature songs of the Beatles and the solo careers of John Lennon and George Harrison. Musicians Scot Michael Arch (as Lennon) and Jon Perry (as Harrison) will be backed by a live band. Both Arch and Perry have spent years performing in Beatles’ tribute acts.

“I was one of those kids sitting on the living room floor watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964,” Arch says. “Seeing that made me want to play the guitar. Now here I am all these years later making a living out of playing the guitar and singing like John Lennon.”

Arch says that about half of the concert will feature Beatles songs and the other half solo numbers by Lennon and Harrison.

“During our shows, we go out of the way to get people singing and clapping along and enjoying themselves,” Arch says. “I like to think for a period of time we transport them back to the 60s and 70s when this music was being written and played.”

Tickets for Lennon & Harrison Live are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com for $25 per person or $20 for theatre members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $35 at the door on the night of the show (if available). All seating is general admission.

Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the theatre before the show and during intermission. The theatre is located at 120 N. State Street in Newtown Borough.
