SOLEBURY, PA — An Upper Makefield man and local business owner is facing charges after police said he shot a pellet gun at two occupied homes in Solebury earlier this month. Andrew Abruzzese, 36, has been charged with two counts of discharging a firearm at an occupied dwelling, a 3rd degree felony.

The charges stem from an incident just after midnight on Feb. 4. According to an affidavit of probable cause from Solebury Township Police, Abruzzese allegedly shot a pellet gun at a home on Darley Circle shortly before 12:30 a.m.

Four people — two adults and two children — were at the home at the time of the shooting, police said. "Numerous" windows and a car in the driveway were significantly damaged, police said. The homeowners told police Abruzzese was a former friend but they had a falling out, according to the affidavit.

Another nearby home was also shot at during the same incident, police said. Three people, including two children, were in that home at that time. The home was damaged in the shooting, police said.

Police filed the charges Tuesday, after reviewing surveillance videos from the scene. The videos show an Audi pull into the cul-de-sac and stop in front of the home. Several shots are then heard as the Audi pulls forward, fires more shots, and leaves, the affidavit said.

The homeowner at the other residence struck also had surveillance video that depicted the Audi, investigators said.

Police later received an anonymous tip from an employee of Abruzzese's business, The Pineville Tavern, saying that Abruzzese had requested the employee place a CO2 canister outside of the business so he could pick it up the night the shooting was reported, according to the affidavit.

Abruzzese did not immediately respond for a request seeking comment from Patch.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 23.
