Newtown Church Monsignor Recovering From COVID-19
Monsignor Michael Picard was one of at least two staff at Saint Andrew Catholic Church to test positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.
NEWTOWN, PA — Several staff members of Saint Andrews Catholic Church in Newtown are continuing to self-quarantine after at least two church employees tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.
On Monday, Jan. 4, the church informed its parishioners that Monsignor Michael Picard and another staff member tested positive for the virus. As a result, last week's masses were covered by a visiting priest.
Parish offices will reopen on Monday, Jan. 11, Rev. Kyle Adamczyk wrote on the church's website on Friday. Mass schedules will continue as scheduled, he said.

"As we continue to quarantine ourselves in our specific locations this week and the beginning of next week, we want to assure you of our prayers for you," Rev. Adamczyk said. "We cannot wait to get back to the celebration of the Eucharist as one parish community."
