Jim Worthington, owner of the Newtown Athletic Club, won the Jim Worthington IHRSA Advocacy Award for his contributions to fitness advocacy.

NEWTOWN, PA — Jim Worthington, owner of the Newtown Athletic Club (NAC), won the inaugural 'Jim Worthington IHRSA Advocacy Award' on Thursday, Oct. 14, at the IHRSA 2021 Annual Convention in Dallas, Texas.

The NAC's website discussed future award winners on their website.

"From this year forward, there will be a new “Jim Worthington IHRSA Advocacy Award” recipient annually."

Worthington has remained a controversial figure in the Newtown and general Bucks County region, namely for his political stances and his hosting of former president Donald Trump at the NAC during his first campaign in 2016. His Newtown appearance was one of his last stops before being elected President just days later.

Earlier this year, Worthington, and the NAC by default, received criticism from the Bucks County community after it was revealed that he organized bus trips to the Jan. 6 Capitol demonstrations.
