Newtown Board of Supervisors To Discuss Zoning Violation Action
A major part of the meeting will involve further legal action against KVK Tech for failure to trailers from their Terry Drive property.
NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Board of Supervisors will be hosting their regular meeting to further discuss business commons zoning plans, a vegetation ordinance for the township, and legal action against KVK Tech over an unresolved zoning violation.
According to Newtown Township Supervisor John Mack, the Board will look to approve a revised proposal from the Bucks County Planning Commission (BCPC) in regards to the development of an Overlay Zone for the Newtown Business Commons. This matter was previously discussed at a BCPC meeting held on Oct. 5.
A major part of the meeting will involve further legal action against KVK Tech for failure to trailers from their Terry Drive property. According to Mack's website, this is in regards to the company's zoning violations and failure to appeal the violation to the Zoning Hearing Board. The Board seeks to take legal action to remedy the violation.

The Board will also look to authorize the drafting to the township's weed ordinance, which is in accordance with Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) recommendations.
In his notes from a Sept. 22 Board meeting, which he made public, Mack writes in detail about the EAC's role in the Board's potential decision.

"In its advisory role, the Environmental Council recommends the amended ordinance as a reflection of current environmental conditions and best practices, including the recognition of native plants as a part of a healthy ecosystem."
Discussions regarding hybrid Board meeting will also be presented. This comes after residents voiced their approval for a hybrid in-person and online format for town meetings, where they can attend in-person or via websites like Zoom and YouTube. As of now, meetings are in-person and masks and social distancing are not required for fully vaccinated guests.
The Board will also look to pursue a contract with the BCPC to participate in the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program, which would last four years.
