Here are the vote totals in the race for Newtown Borough Council.
NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Incumbent Democrat Tara Grunde-McLaughlin fought off Republican challenger Thomas Dillione in the race for Newtown Borough Council, where six candidates competed for three spots. All seats are four-year terms.
In Ward 2, where two seats are up for grabs, uncertified vote tallies indicate Democrat Susan Turner has prevailed with 272 votes.
Republican Kevin McDermott, the current council president, ran alongside Charles Adcock in Ward 2. Just five votes separate Democrat Robert Szwajkos and McDermott.

Democrat incumbents John Mack and Dennis Fisher will take on Republican challengers T.J. Butler and Daniel Boyle. Mack won a two-year seat in the 2017 election. Fisher was appointed to the board in 2018 to fill the remaining term of Democrat Jen Dix, who moved out of the township.
