Newtown Halloween Window Painting Set For Oct. 16
The annual window painting will give children the chance to decorate the town with spooky images and Halloween decorations.
NEWTOWN, PA — The annual Newtown Halloween Window Painting contest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16.
Children and adults will be able to paint Halloween and fall-themed paintings on the windows of businesses in the Newtown Borough. Every year, this event decorates the town and brings the spirit of Halloween to everyone in the area.
Participants can pick up their paint from the Newtown Bicycle Shop on the day of the event from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Painters are expected to only paint on assigned windows, which will be chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Paintings must be of a Halloween and fall theme, or of the particular shop's merchandise, and anything inappropriate will be removed.

Organizers of the event ask all participants to bring their own brushes and other painting accessories (tarps, containers to clean brushes, water) and to be careful when painting; avoid getting paint on window trim and the sidewalk, as the acrylic paint stains.
Winners of the painting contest will be announced on Facebook sometime before Halloween, and prizes for the winners will be awarded at the end of the Newtown Halloween Parade on Oct. 30. Prizes will be available afterwards at the Newtown Bicycle Shop.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A rain date is set for Sunday, Oct. 17 at the same times. All additional information can be found at the event's Facebook page.
