NEWTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Department of Health recorded violations at 17 bars and restaurants in Newtown from Nov. 1 - Nov. 22.

Here's what health inspectors found:

Acme Market, 2 violations: Observed an employee in the food prep area without a beard restraint; wash thermometer is not providing accurate reads for water temperature

Applebee's, 2 violations: Observed a container stored on top of the lettuce — nothing can be stored on top of ready to eat food; utensil water was at low temperature

Chick-Fil-A, 2 violations: Salads in premade salad refrigerator were at unsafe temperatures; observed a knife stored between wells in the breading station — utensils must be stored in a clean and dry container

La Stalla, 8 violations: No food safety manager on duty as required; food workers observed using bare hands for preparing ready to eat food; ice scooper was stored on top of ice machine, soda gun and holder at bar is unclean and held together with duct tape, dishwasher at bar needs to be serviced; observed meatballs at low temperature; food double panned in a prep unit was at unsafe temperatures; observed flies around the bar; food workers not wearing hair restraints as required; floors in food prep area in bad condition

NAC Cafe, 4 violations: No certified food safety manager on duty; food on top shelf of display case not at safe temperature; interiors of prep unit and refrigerator draws are unclean; front hand sink is not providing cold water

Riehl's Baked Goods, 1 violation: Cookies and pasty rings not labeled with common name of the contents

Rocco's at The Brick Hotel, 1 violation: Employee mask usage

Sycamore Grill, 8 violations: No certified food safety manager on duty; employee face masks, tables lined up to the bar; employees using bar hand sink as a dump sink; observed raw foods stored over ready to eat foods in refrigerator; butter in prep area and bleu cheese stuffed olives at bar were at unsafe temperatures; observed food thawing on prep counter; observed clean utensils stored with the food contact end exposed; observed portion cups being used as scoopers in bulk food containers

The Greystone, 2 violations: Employee mask usage; screen door at kitchen entrance does not seal

The Village Market, 4 violations: Food employee observed not wearing masks to cover their noise and mouth; time/temperature controlled food held at unsafe temperatures; knives at two prep units found improperly stored; unwrapped, individual stirrers, straws and cup lids were found at self-service coffee station — affected items must be individually wrapped or dispensed to patrons by employees

Vince's Pizzeria & Taproom, 1 violation: Facility has added an outdoor tent. There must be a minimum of 2 opposing sides up for air flow and the township must give approval for the use of this tent. Tables inside the tent are not 6 feet apart. Must move tables to allow for 6 feet from the back of one chair to the next tables chair

Zebra Striped Whale, 1 violation: Refrigerator interior is unclean
