Newtown Home Contractor Molested Young Boy While Working: DA

The contractor inappropriately touched the 11-year-old while he was helping remove bees from the home, police said.

NEWTOWN, PA — A Buckingham Township man inappropriately touched an 11-year-old boy while working as a contractor at a Newtown Township home in early September, police said.

Jefferey Todd Lukens, 61, was removing bees from the boy's home on Sept. 2 when the assault took place, according to officials.

Lukens invited the boy to assist him in the remove of the bees from the property, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. He gave the boy a partial bee suit to protect the upper part of his body.

According to reports, when the boy climbed a up a ladder, Lukens lifted the boy's shorts and took picture of his thighs with his cellphone. He also allegedly touched the boy on his lower stomach and upper pubic area.

The boy left after Lukens allegedly tried to touch his underwear, according to the complaint.

Lukens returned to the house to finish his job on Sept. 6 and asked the boy if he could take pictures of his. He then allegedly lifted his shirt to take a picture of his abdomen with his cell phone.

The parents of the boy contacted the Newtown Township Police Department later that day to report the crime.

Police seized Luken's cell phone during the investigation and found the images he took of the young boy.

He was later charged with with felonies, including indecent assault of a person less than 13-years-old and unlawful contact with a minor.

Lukens turned himself in Friday, Oct. 1, and was placed on a bail of $100,000. Lukens was a registered sex offender on Megan's Law for the last ten years; he was removed from the list this past June.

Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub released a statement on the his website.

“While the evidence known to us does not warrant accusing Mr. Lukens of additional crimes at this time, our knowledge of this case and of past history gives us enough concern to ask if there are any other victims out there."

He also asks that anyone who may have been victimized by Mr. Lukens in the past come forward, as further evidence will be used in this case.
