Newtown Middle School Responds To Reported Threat
Students arriving at Newtown Middle School Thursday morning may have noticed an added police presence.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Council Rock School District is investigating a threat against Newtown Middle School.
School officials were notified of the threat through the district's Safe2Say Something anonymous tip program, Superintendent Robert Fraser said in an email Wednesday to parents of middle schoolers.
"We treat all threats, regardless of their size and nature, with the utmost seriousness and act out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our entire school community," Fraser said.

There was an additional police presence at the middle school Thursday morning as students arrived for school.
Police will continue to monitor the building throughout the course of the day, Fraser said.
