Too Close To Call: Newtown Township Supervisor Election

NEWTOWN, PA — Polls are now closed in Pennsylvania and results are beginning to trickle in for races across Bucks County, including a pair of Township Supervisor seats in Newtown.

Here are the latest results:

Six-year seat

• Davis (R): 3,627
• Oxley (D): 3,623

Two-year seat

• Ahern (R): 3,617
• Snyder (D): 3,624

Republican Kyle Davis is running for reelection as a member of the Newtown Board of Supervisors as Supervisor, along with running mate Andrea Ahern, a vice president and business development officer at Firstrust Bank.

Davis is campaigning on preventing overdevelopment and keeping taxes low.

"We need responsible fiscal management to stop reckless spending and harmful tax increases," Davis said.

Ahern is also campaigning on lower taxes and the growth of small businesses in the community, where she has lived most of her life.

"I believe that my 15+ years working with small to middle market businesses will lend itself to helping bring businesses back to Newtown in an effort to create additional revenue streams," said Ahern.

They will be running against Democrats David Oxley, a current member of the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors, and Elen Snyder, a local environmental activist.

Oxley has stated that he wants to focus on the local economy, building up local businesses and infrastructure.

"I want Newtown Township to continue to build its reputation as a great place for living, dining, shopping, and a great place to raise your family and retire," Oxley said.

Snyder, a member of the Environmental Advisory Committee, is campaigning on an environmentalist platform, hoping to make Newtown a more 'green' town.

"We need to bring our township into the future by addressing environmental issues such as renewable energy and green infrastructure," Snyder said.
