Newtown Voter Guide 2021: What You Need To Know

Check out all the important issues on the ballot this November.

NEWTOWN, PA — We are less than two weeks away from the Nov. 2 election in Pennsylvania, and Newtown has a few candidates up for election and reelection.

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot for Bucks County is Tuesday, Oct. 26, and in-person polls will be open at 7 a.m.and stay open until 8 p.m. on Nov. 2.

Here's a glance at what you'll find on your ballot in Newtown and the surrounding area.

This election will have no congressional or senate candidates for Bucks County to vote on. Instead, candidates for Justice of the Supreme Court, Judge of the Superior Court, and Judge of the Commonwealth Court will be voting options for Pennsylvania voters.

Republican District Attorney Matt Weintraub is seeking reelection for his position, running against Democrat Antonette Stancu. She is a long-time Bucks County attorney.

Democrat Mark Lomax, a major with the Pennsylvania State Police for almost three decades, is running for Bucks County Sheriff against Republican Fred Harran, Bensalem's Director of Public Safety.

Newtown and the Bucks County area will be having very important elections.

Republican John Burke and Democrat Rebecca Bancroft are running for the position of Mayor of Newtown. Bancroft would be the first woman to hold the position in the history of the town.

Republican Judge Michael 'Mick' Petrucci and Democrat Mark Zinman are running for Magisterial District Judge. Petrucci is running for reelection for the position he has held since 2015, replacing the late Judge Donald Nasshorn. This is Zinman's first time running for any public position.

Democrats David Oxley and Elen Snyder are running for Newtown Township Supervisor against Republicans Kyle Davis and Andrea Ahern.

Positions in the Council Rock School District will be on the ballot as well.

Republican Bob Hickey is running against Democrat Paula Barson for the Region 3 position of the Council Rock School Board. Republican Michael Roosevelt is running against Democrat Roy Rakzawski for the Region 6 Position. Democrat Nicole Khan is running against Republican Kristen Marcell for a position on the Council Rock School Board out of Region 9.

  • Newtown Boro 2: Newtown Joint Municipal Authority, 15 S Congress Street
  • Newtown Township 1: Newtown Middle School, 116 Richboro Road
  • Newtown Township 2: American Legion Post Number 440, 41 Linden Avenue
  • Newtown Township 3: Goodnoe Elementary School, 298 Frost Lane
  • Newtown Township 4: Newtown Middle School, 116 Richboro Road
  • Newtown Township 5: New Life Christian Church, 4 Freedom Drive
  • Newtown Township 6: Goodnoe Elementary School, 298 Frost Lane
  • Newtown Township 7: Newtown Grant Home Owners Association, Rec Center 360 Eagle Road
  • Newtown Township 8: Newtown Township Building, 100 Municipal Drive

Voting via mail

Those sending a mail-in ballot can request one and drop it off at their designated locations.
