NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Borscht Belt is hitting the road this summer with a brand new food truck.

Beginning this month, the Newtown-based deli will be making the rounds at local festivals and private backyard events bringing with it all its Borscht Belt favorites.

“We’re thrilled to announce that the Borscht Belt Food Truck is officially on the move - spreading good vibes, great food, and a whole lot of love wherever we go,” said Borscht Belt partner Mike Dalewitz. “Our mission? To bring a taste of New York City and the legendary Borscht Belt straight to your neighborhood, one knish at a time.”

Dalewitz continued, “At the Borscht Belt, we believe food is more than just sustenance - it’s a way to connect, share stories, and celebrate the diversity that makes our community so special.

“Whether you grew up on deli classics or you’re tasting them for the first time, we’re here to serve up nostalgia, joy, and a reminder that everyone belongs at our table,” he said. “We can’t wait to meet you, feed you, and make every stop a celebration of community spirit.”

Truck Serving Borscht Belt Favorites

The truck will be serving Borscht Belt favorites including its freshly-made hand-carved sandwiches - turkey, brisket, pastrami, corned beef - in addition to its Reuben and Rachel sandwiches, brisket cheesesteak and turkey special.

The truck will also be loaded down with chocolate babka, rugelach, and Dr. Browns along with vegetarian and gluten free items and your favorite sides - potato salad, macaroni salad and coleslaw.

“Depending on the time of day, we may have freshly-baked bagels from Ess-A-Bagels. We may do pop ups when we’re not booked where people can get fresh-baked bagels. Think of it as a Katz Deli on wheels,” said Dalewitz.

The truck will mostly be traveling to events throughout the Delaware Valley, although it has also committed to happenings in the Hamptons and in upstate New York where the Borscht Belt was born.

“There’s a lot of interest out there,” said Dalewitz. “It’s created a new excitement and buzz.

“Any breweries, markets or festivals that want to take us, we’re open for business. We’re also available for backyard parties and private events,” said Dalewitz.

Meanwhile, back at home on Eagle Road, new and exciting things are happening with the expansion of the Borscht Belt menu to include breakfast skillets, lemon ricotta and banana and chocolate chip pancakes, smash burgers, Philly cheese steaks, burgers, onion rings, fries, meatloaf, and lots more.

“The menu has doubled into more traditional comfort foods with a little bit of brunch in there,” said Dalewitz. “We still have our traditional menu items. But we wanted to create a menu that’s more comfort, more community food. This is American comfort food.”

New Location Coming Soon

Looking ahead, the Borscht Belt will be expanding to a new location on July 30 at the Market at the Fareway, a modern farmers market in Philadelphia’s Chestnut Hill section.

The market - open Thursday to Saturday - offers a unique shopping experience that combines the charm of a country store with the sophistication of the Chestnut Hill lifestyle. It has been completely refurbished and renovated and aligns with Chestnut Hill’s historic feel.

The Borscht Belt also operates a vendor booth at the Trenton Farmers Market and will soon be offering franchise opportunities.
