Pancake Breakfast Brings Out The Crowds In Newtown
The breakfast was revived two years ago as a fundraiser for the American Legion to defray the cost of the Newtown Memorial Day Parade.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Rotary Club’s griddle team was back in action Sunday morning whipping up the best pancakes and waffles around.
Newtown Rotarians Paul Salvatore and Kyle Davis were again on pancake and bacon study as a constant flow of patrons passed through the doors of the American Legion Hall.
Chef Joe Garvey was spending a busy day coordinating a banquet of breakfast foods including waffles, homemade sausage, breakfast potatoes, fresh strawberries, an assortment of muffins, scrambled eggs, and more.

Rotary Club President Steve Sabel was busy mingling with the guests, making sure everyone had plenty to eat.
“This is great,” he said, looking around at the near-capacity crowd. “This is what makes Rotary so special. What’s great about today is that the money we raise will also help offset the meals of the participants in the Newtown Memorial Day Parade.”
As far as the food, Sabel called it outstanding and complimented Chef Garvey for another successful fundraiser. “From pancakes to sausage, pastry to fruit, what a beautiful spread. The food was fantastic.”
