Parade To Scare Up Halloween Fun And More In Newtown Borough
The Newtown Borough Recreation Board is gearing up for its annual Halloween march through town.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Newtown Halloween Parade is scheduled to step off on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. from the Stocking Works on South State Street.
Registration will be held at the Stocking Works from 9 to 9:30 a.m. with costume judging from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Those attending the parade are encouraged to arrive early.
This year's costume categories include Best Homemade Costume, Group Theme, Halloween Horror, Halloween Humor, Pampered Pet, Parent & Child, Cutest Couple (any group of two), Storybook and Fantasy, TV & Movies and Best Float.

At 10 a.m., the Council Rock High School North Marching Band is scheduled to lead the costumed participants on a walk down State Street from the Stocking Works to Greene Street and then east on Greene Street to Officer Brian Gregg Memorial Park.
Following the parade at Brian Gregg Park, awards will be presented for the best costumes. The parade is organized and presented by the Newtown Borough Recreation Board. For more information, click here.

Parking Restrictions
Parking restrictions begin at 8 a.m. on South State Street from Centre Avenue to Washington Avenue. Anyone parked in the Newtown Borough Municipal Lots will only be able to exit onto Centre Avenue and travel west toward Sycamore Street.
Road closures will begin at 9:40 a.m. on the following roads.
- South State Street from Barclay Street to Jefferson Street
- Greene Street from State Street to Congress Street
- North Congress Street from Washington Avenue to Jefferson Street
- Liberty Street from Washington Avenue to Jefferson Street
The following will be closed at the start of the parade.
- Washington Avenue between the municipal parking lot and State Street
- Centre Avenue Bridge
For those attending events at the Newtown Theatre, North State Street at Jefferson Street will be open to the local traffic.
