Police Foot Chase Ends In Arrests Near Council Rock North: Cops

The incident was "entirely unrelated to school activities and there was no immediate safety concern involving the school," police said.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Newtown Township are assuring the community there was "no immediate safety concern" after two people were arrested Wednesday morning in a wooded area adjacent to Council Rock North High School.

According to police, a person wanted for non-violent thefts as well as an accomplice were arrested after running from police around 7 a.m.

Police located the pair at Salad Works on South Eagle Road. They then fled in different directions into the wooded area that separates the shopping center and the high school, authorities said.

Both men were quickly found and subsequently arrested, police said.

"Although this incident took place near the school property it was entirely unrelated to school activities and there was no immediate safety concern involving the school," police said.

The identity of those arrested and the nature of the alleged thefts has not yet been released.
