3 Car Thefts Under Investigation In Newtown Township
Police also reported six unlawful entries into unlocked vehicles in the same developments and on the same night.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police are investigating the theft of three vehicles which happened sometime Monday night into Tuesday morning in the township.
All three vehicles were recovered the same night in close proximity of the thefts, which occurred in the Newtown Gate and Country Bend developments, Newtown Township Police said.
Police also reported six unlawful entries into unlocked vehicles in the same developments and on the same night.

“Our investigations are continuing,” said Chief John Hearn. “We are aware that other local jurisdictions had the same reported issues with one arrest. We are coordinating our efforts among local law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend those that are responsible.”
Vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles were reported the same night in multiple jurisdictions across the county, including Tinicum Township and Perkasie Borough.

“Residents are asked to lock and secure their vehicles overnight,” said the chief. “Do not leave valuables in vehicles, and remove key fobs. Any suspicious activity is asked to be immediately reported to law enforcement through 9-1-1.”
