Restaurant Assault, Drugs Seized During Traffic Stops: Newtown Twp. Crime Report
Police also investigated an incident of fraud involving the promise of $7 million in exchange for a deposit of $10,000.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Oct. 10 and 15:
October 10
- At 7:35 p.m.. police investigated an assault at a Newtown Township restaurant. The incident is under investigation.

- At 6:15 a.m., police investigated a theft of wire. The incident is under investigation.
October 12
- At 6:30 p.m., a resident contacted police to report fraudulent charges on their credit card. The account was closed and a police report was filed to secure reimbursement of the funds. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised to contact his banks, credit card companies, and credit bureaus to further monitor his accounts.
October 14

- At 6:30 a.m., police stopped the driver of a Jeep for committing a vehicle code violation at the Newtown Bypass and Lindenhurst Road. As a result of an investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
October 15
- At 6:30 a.m., police stopped the driver of a Chevrolet sedan for committing a vehicle code violation at Rosefield Drive and Thornbury Lane. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
- At 12:45 p.m. police were dispatched to an office in Newtown Township for the report of a theft. The incident is under investigation.
- At 4:15 p.m., a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report a scam. The resident explained that a "David Williams" had called her mother advising her that she had won $7 million and that she needed to deposit $10,000 into a Wells Fargo bank account to claim her winnings. The man also told her mother that an Uber would be coming to her residence to pick her up and take her to the bank. Police advised the resident that this is a scam and not to answer the door should someone arrive at her home.
