Worst Christmas Movie Ever Made & Other Holiday Favorites Coming To Newtown Theatre
The theater is offering an impressive lineup of screenings to ring in the Christmas season this year. See what's on the list.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Theatre has announced its lineup of holiday favorites this season. Tickets for most films are $5 for everyone, and all seating is general admission.
Check out the Christmas classic movies coming to the screen in the next month:
- “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” – Friday, Dec. 10 at 9 p.m. So bad it’s good, this 1964 science fiction comedy regularly appears on the lists of the worst films ever made. Tickets for this special event are only 93 cents – the average movie ticket price in 1964. Tickets are only available at the door. Doors will open at 8 p.m. and the movie will start at 9 p.m. Beer, wine, and a special Martian-themed cocktail will be available for purchase in the hour before the movie. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best 1960s clothing.
- “A Christmas Story” – Saturday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. Sponsored by Christine McKee.
- “White Christmas” – Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. Sponsored by Alice Hart Hughes, Esq.
- “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” – Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Sponsored by Ken and Peg Swanstrom.
- “Elf – Grownups Screening” – Friday, Dec. 17 at 9 p.m. Only elves 21 and older will be admitted. Doors will open at 8 p.m. and the movie will start at 9 p.m. In the hour leading up to the movie, guests will enjoy one complementary drink (beer, wine, or a signature Elf-themed cocktail), free popcorn, a trivia contest, and a costume contest. Elf-themed prizes will be given for trivia winners, and the best-dressed elf will win a free theatre rental. Tickets are $25 and are only available online at TheNewtownTheatre.com . - “It’s a Wonderful Life” – Two screenings – Sunday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Karen Ulmer, P.C., Attorneys at Law.
- “The Bells of St. Mary’s” – Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Johnson Kendall & Johnson, Inc.
- “Elf – Family Screening” – Thursday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. Sponsored by Meaghan and Ryan Vogel.
- “Polar Express” – Three screenings (a fourth screening on Christmas Eve is already sold out) – Saturday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m.; Sunday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.; Thursday, Dec. 23 at 10 a.m. Free hot chocolate for everyone and a Santa sleigh bell for each child given out by the Big Man himself.
