NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Thirty young artists, age 10-17, are raising awareness about food insecurity through a new exhibit, “Culinary Art,” which runs now through June 30 at Countryside Gallery in historic Newtown.

The students are hoping to raise money for Bucks County Housing Group’s Food Pantries to help with the BCHG mission to close the door on hunger. The aspiring young artists have each created their own individual paintings featuring food. All 30 paintings are currently on display at the gallery located at the corner of South State Street and Washington Avenue.

As part of their fundraising effort, the students have joined together to complete two collaborative paintings which will each be sold to the highest bidder. Their 12 by 24 "Garlic & Herbs" was painted in calming neutral colors, while their 20 by 20 "Vegetable Medley" is bold and vibrant.
