Taco Restaurant Seeks Approval In Newtown

The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors will consider conditional use approval for a new taco restaurant during a meeting Wednesday.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors will consider conditional use approval for a new taco restaurant during a meeting Wednesday.

Bomba Tacos & Rum, an Ohio-based Latin-style restaurant and bar, has plans to open in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. The establishment already received approval from the township for its liquor license transfer.

The restaurant will be located in the new building currently along Durham Road that is currently under construction.

Bomba Tacos & Rum describes itself as a "premium casual taco restaurant." It currently operates three locations in Ohio. A location in Malvern opened recently.

The Newtown restaurant would be the second Pennsylvania location. According to the chain's website, a 2020 opening is planned but specifics were not immediately available.

The menu features a variety of Latin-inspired dishes, including, of course, tacos. The menu also features bowls, sandwiches, soups, and appetizers. The drink menu includes a range of rum cocktails, as well as margaritas, sangria, wine, and beer.

Also during Wednesday's meeting, the supervisors will consider a conditional use application from Toll Brothers for a 41-unit residential development off Rt. 413 and Twining Bridge Road.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Newtown Township building.
