Theatre Teams Up With Musician To Bring Jazz Series To Newtown
The series will feature original jazz arrangements of songs by top 1970s artists like The Carpenters, Bee Gees, Elton John, and others.

NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre is teaming up with popular Philadelphia-based jazz artist Hailey Brinnel on a new series of jazz concerts titled “Hailey Brinnel Presents.”
The first concert – “Hailey Brinnel Presents: Swingin’ the 70s – will be Friday, February 21 at 8:00 p.m. and feature original jazz arrangements of songs by top 1970s artists like The Carpenters, Bee Gees, Elton John, and others. Joining Brinnel on the Newtown stage will be her regular bassist and pianist along with guest drummer Sherrie Maricle and guest trumpeter Kellin Hanas.
Brinnel is a jazz vocalist and trombonist who has played the Newtown Theatre several times in recent years to rave reviews and standing ovations. In 2023, she premiered her latest album, Beautiful Tomorrow, on the Newtown Theatre stage.

Brinnel’s debut album, "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles," peaked at No. 13 on Amazon’s ‘Jazz New Release’ chart, and No. 44 on the website’s Jazz Best-Seller chart. Her music is firmly rooted in jazz tradition, arranged such that the energy is preserved but new life is breathed into it.
Tickets are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com for $32 per person or $27 for theatre members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $42 at the door on the night of the show (if available). All seating is general admission.

Beer, wine, and canned cocktails will be available for purchase at the theatre before the show and during the show. The theatre is located at 120 N. State Street in Newtown Borough.
