EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — The season's first dose of winter weather could come later this week, but little to no accumulation is expected.

Commuters in the northern portions of the Philadelphia suburbs should be alert that there could be some overnight snow Thursday into Friday but as of now, it's not expected to be a significant issue.

According to the National Weather Service, portions of Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery counties as well as the Lehigh Valley could experience a small amount of snow mixed with rain overnight Thursday into Friday.

The precipitation comes from a front moving eastward. The associated snow will slowly wane on Friday, the National Weather Service said.

In Eastern Pennsylvania, residents can expect rain in the late afternoon and evening Thursday. Highs will be in the mid-50s. Then, a possible snow shower could arrive after 3 a.m. Friday. If the snow does in fact materialize, it will be brief, forecasters say. By morning, expect cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 30s.
