NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Toll Brothers has been removed from tonight's Planning Commission meeting agenda, Newtown Township Manager Micah Lewis informed Patch Tuesday morning.

"It is anticipated that the application will be heard at the Feb.18 Planning Commission and Feb. 26 Board of Supervisors meetings, accordingly," he wrote in an email to Patch.

Toll Brothers was scheduled to be front of the Newtown Township Planning Commission Tuesday for conditional use approval for a 41-unit residential development. The hearing was opened in January, immediately continued until the Feb. 4 meeting, and now will be continued again until the expected date of Feb. 18.

The application seeks permission to construct the development on a 152-acre parcel at Rt. 413 and Twining Bridge Road.

Conditional use approval is required because Toll is proposing to use a cluster option when configuring the development. The application includes an onsite wastewater treatment facility.

Last year, an informal proposal from Toll Brothers to construct more than 170 residential units on the same property was overwhelmingly opposed by township residents in attendance at a public meeting.

That plan would have required a zoning amendment.
