Unattended Veterans Service To Be Held In Washington Crossing

The event will be honoring and interring 10 unclaimed veterans, including one from Bucks County and the rest from Chester County.

The names of all the veterans will be read, and the Pennsylvania Military Honors team​ will present flags on behalf of each of them.

WASHINGTON CROSSING, PA — The Bucks County community is invited to the Unattended Veterans Service at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, which will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28.

The event will be honoring and interring 10 unclaimed veterans, including one from Bucks County and the rest from Chester County. The event is being hosted by the Bucks County Coroner's Office in collaboration with the Chester County Coroner's Office.

The names of all the veterans will be read, and the Pennsylvania Military Honors team will present flags on behalf of each of them.

The veterans to be honored include:

  • Marcellus Brown, U.S. Navy (Petty Officer First Class), (Post-World War II Era), from Tredyffrin Township
  • William P. Deignan, U.S. Navy (Seaman), (Post-Vietnam Era), from Valley Township
  • Jeffrey A. Fenstermacher, U.S. Army (Private), (Post-Vietnam Era), from Parkesburg Boro
  • Oliver C. Ford, U.S. Marine Corp. (Unknown Rank), (Vietnam Era), from Coatesville City
  • Gregory D. Jones, U.S. Navy (Seaman Recruit), (Persian Gulf War Era), from Coatesville City
  • Joseph H. Jones, U.S. Army (Private First Class), (Korean War Era), from West Chester Boro
  • John W. Marsh, U.S. Air Force (Airman), (Vietnam Era), from Honey Brook Township
  • Joan M. Marsh, Veteran Spouse, Wife of John W. Marsh (above), from Honey Brook Township
  • Hollis Ross, U.S. Naval Reserve (Seaman Apprentice), (Vietnam Era), from Caln Township
  • Wayne Smith, U.S. Marine Corp. (Lance Corporal), (Vietnam Era), from Richlandtown Township

The ceremony will be held at 830 Highland Road in Newtown on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 2:00pm.
