UPPER MAKEFIELD — Upper Makefield is searching for a new township manager.

In a unanimous vote, the board of supervisors at its December meeting voted to advertise the position after receiving word from manager Dave Nyman that he plans on retiring in 2025 following nearly eight years at the administrative helm of the township.

Nyman plans on remaining on the job until a new manager is found.

Nyman was named interim manager in 2016 following the resignation of Jim Pascale who stepped down after eight months on the job. Before that he had filled in for two years after the resignation of Sally Slook who was hired by the township in November 2012 and resigned two years later in 2014.

Nyman also stepped in briefly as township manager in 2012 following the resignation of Stephanie Teoli, who took the manager’s job in Middletown. He had also filled in as interim manager for several months after Richard Gestrich resigned in 2005, and again for several months in 2008 after Joe Czajkowski resigned.
