Will Council Rock North Win The Christmas Choir Competition? Voting Is Open Til 9 Thursday

Winners of the Philly B101.1 contest will receive $5,000 to their school choir program and have the chance to perform at the Kimmel Center.

NEWTOWN, PA — Choir students from Council Rock High School North have a song of theirs on the radio this season for Philly B101.1's Christmas Choir Competition. Voting in the contest is open until 9 p.m. Thursday.

Council Rock North students are the competition's defending champs, having won in 2020 with a rendition of The First Noel.

This year, the high school students sang "Joy to the World." Two other local high schools are competing in the finals in the 9-12 grade range: Neshaminy High School and Ridley High School were both selected for their performances of "What Christmas Means To Me."

Schools could submit up to three entries for the contest, which began back in mid-October. Council Rock North made it through the competition's semifinals to reach this point, having their songs played on Philly's Official Christmas Station for listeners to vote.

On Friday at 7 a.m., the station will announce the selected first, second, and third prize winners. (Votes will not be the sole determinant of who wins the contest, B101.1 specified in the contest rules).

The second place prize-winning school will receive $2,000, and the third place prize is $1,000.
