Yardley Man Killed In Newtown: Borough Police
The Yardley resident died at St. Mary's Hospital after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the road in Newtown on Wednesday night.
NEWTOWN, PA — Newtown Borough Police are investigating the death of an 84-year-old Yardley resident, who was struck by a vehicle while crossing Washington Avenue between State Street and Court Street in Newtown on Wednesday night.
According to police, the Yardley resident was crossing the road around 8 p.m. and was stuck by a 20-year-old man from Churchville.

After being rushed to St. Mary's Hospital, the victim died of his injuries a few hours later.
Newtown Borough Police were assisted by officers from the Newtown Township Police, Middletown Township Police, Upper Makefield Township Police. An accident investigator from the Bucks County District Attorney's office came to the scene as well. Newtown Ambulance and Fire Department came to the scene and provided emergency services.

Washington Ave. was closed off for about four hours while the scene was being investigated.
As the investigation is ongoing, all names of those involved have not been releases. Further details will be released as the investigation goes on.
