Mail-in/Absentee Ballots Delivered Late

Montgomery County & U.S. Post Office combine mistakes to inconvenience voters

Some Montgomery County, PA voters had not yet received their Mail-In ballots as of Tuesday April 16, 2024.

According to the Montgomery County Mail-in or Absentee Ballot status Tracking website: https://mail.yahoo.com/d/folders/1/messages/203008 the ballots were mailed by the county on Friday April 5, 2024 but had not arrived by April 16. If the post office requires 11 or 12 days to deliver them, cautious voters will want to hand deliver their ballots at one of the 12 county Ballot Drop Box locations: https://www.montgomerycountypa.gov/3587/Secure-Ballot-Drop-Box-Locations

Is there enough time to mail in ballots if they must be received by the deadline of April 23rd? Why couldn’t the Post Office deliver ballots to voters in less than 10 days? Why was the county so late in mailing them? Normal first class delivery time in the same region is three days.
