Memorial Day Oservance

The Historical Society of Montgomery County will honor the service of soldiers and veterans interred at Historic Montgomery Cemetery, One Hartranft Avenue, Norristown, on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Wreaths will be laid at the monuments of General John Frederick Hartranft, General Winfield Scott Hancock, the Memorial Rose Garden and at the G.A.R. Zook Post #11 Plot.

Among the scheduled activities are the Rose Petal Ceremony assisted by children; Wreath Laying with Volley Fire; special Children's activities; and Irish Thunderpipes & Drums.

The programs will begin at 11:00 am and end approximately 1:00 pm. This event is free; the Historical Society invites the community to take part in this observance. Parking will be available within the cemetery gates.
