MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A local resident playing an online game called "Elf" by the Pennsylvania Lottery has won a huge jackpot.

The payoff for the winner of what the lottery describes as an eInstant game was $131,893.85.

Elf is played only online. It's a "connect style" game that allows players to bet anywhere from 50 cents to $50, with numerous chances throughout the game to multiply winnings and to unlock free games and bonus rounds.

The game begins with a 3 x 5 play grid, and a descending series of symbols. Players win when three identical symbols connect across the screen (See full rules online here).

It's the first major jackpot won from the game in Pennsylvania this holiday season.
