Montgomery County COVID-19 Vaccine Updates: New Groups Eligible
Montgomery County grocery store workers and teachers can now receive the vaccine. Here are the latest updates.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Montgomery County's police officers, grocery store employees, and other essential frontline workers in the 1B priority category can receive the COVID-19 vaccine as of Monday, as another milestone in the ongoing immunization efforts has been reached.
Cases continue to rise in Montgomery County and around the region as part of the ongoing "fourth wave." The county's percent positivity rate is now at 8.1 percent, up from 5.7 percent last week.
The county administered 169,779 partial vaccinations and 106,387 full vaccinations as of Monday.

Increased doses coming to Montco

A weekly shipment of 42,000 Johnson & Johnson doses, which were previously set aside for the southeastern regional sites, will head straight to the counties, as they had asked. The doses will be split equally into shipments of 10,500 between the four collar counties.Montgomery County's increased allocations will allow them to soon complete the immunization of the remaining individuals in the 1A group, they said Wednesday. 1B now eligible for vaccine
With Montgomery County's teachers and school employees vaccinated, police officers, grocery store workers, and other frontline workers are next. 1B became eligible in the county on Monday, with other critical infrastructure employees in 1C becoming eligible on April 12. The vaccine will be available to the general public on April 19.
